- Who is Futbol Drones?
Futbol Drones is a Bay Area based aerial videography company providing premium drone videography services for club and school soccer teams. We cover other field sports as well. At Futbol Drones, we are FAA licensed with hundreds of hours of logged flight time with a passion and eye for the sports that we film. We are able to translate our experience and passions into a video experience that is smooth to watch and a valuable learning tool.
At Futbol Drones, we are passionate about what we do. Our end goal for every project is to ensure that our client is enthusiastic about our footage and deliverables. At the scoping stage, we work with you to make sure we are focused on your objectives - from capturing a particular player or series of games to filming a tournament and navigating through multiple matches. With safety as a priority and non-negotiable element of our philosophy, we chart and log our flight plans and/or work with local agencies and representatives as appropriate or required. Our equipment is the best-in-class, and we dedicate significant resources for innovation upon each project - from creating replays to tracking key players with visual tags and providing analytics related to key moments in the game. - How does Futbol Drones ensure a safe filming experience?
There are several safety concerns that put fans and players at risk - whether the pilot is unskilled with minimal flight experience and inexperience with FAA regulations, to flying the drone in windy conditions or general equipment quality and maintenance. We focus on delivering quality footage, customized to what our clients want with safety as our #1 priority. Safety is engrained in everything we do:
- FAA certified with strict adherence to FAA airspace guidelines (all drones are flown away from the field of play and away spectators at 500ft above ground)
- Game day flight plan is registered with the FAA
- Equipment is serviced and maintained regularly
- Responsible disposal of batteries

- What is your Game day setup?
- Log flight plan with FAA
- Arrive 60 minutes prior to game time
- Introduce ourselves to the coaches, referees and parents
- Secure the best location for optimal safety and performance
- Setup our command post 10-20 yards away from the game field
- Place signage on the perimeter to ensure awareness that filming will be in progress during the match
- Designate "runways" for landing and take-off in tournament play with large crowds
Coaches

As our approach to any project, we work closely with coaches to understand what they get out of our footage so that we can continue to create a custom experience for them and their team. There are multiple benefits in providing aerial footage to coaches, especially because they cannot track their whole team during a game. In fact, during a match, they may their have their back to the field. Aerial videography provides unique insight to coaches by showing the development of plays, scoring opportunities, and defensive breakdowns. At Futbol Drones, we like to think of our footage as a tool in the "tool box" for coaches and so, we're proud to become an integral contributor to various programs.
Players
Aerial videography can be used to teach players about their team's tactical philosophy and create awareness of their positional requirements.

Aerial perspective provides a player with critical insight that they wouldn't have had during the game. Like it or not , we are limited to what is humanly possible on the field and what our memories retain off the field. The ability to replay footage post-game, often in an accompanying training session, provides a critical opportunity to train and improve. Our footage is used in one-on-one training and team training , and is sometimes used comparatively in cases of a multiple match package. Additionally, for athletes considering advancement in their sport at the college level, we can create highlight reels used as a means of introduction of the athlete to recruiters, coaches and teams.
